Prior to founding MMI, Richard Mogensen served as the Mid-Atlantic Region Director of EarthMark Mitigation Services, LLC, and was responsible for overseeing mitigation bank development from conceptual to final design, preparing proposals, negotiating with all agencies regarding design, permitting and banking instruments.

Rich oversaw design and construction teams, marketed credits, negotiated with potential customers, handled project finances, including expenses, cash flow, invoicing, revenues and monitoring and maintaining wetland mitigation banks and “Full-Delivery” stream and wetland restoration projects.

He managed a staff of people to locate, secure and develop stream, wetland and nutrient offset mitigation banks.

Previously, Rich was employed by Transcontinental Gas Pipe Line Corporation/The Williams Companies, Inc. from 1991 to 2000, and started out as the Environmental Permits Manager. While there, as Sr. Environmental Scientist/Project Manager, he established Marsh Resources, Inc. (a mitigation banking subsidiary of The Williams Companies, Inc.).

Additional various civil engineering skills were developed while Rich was at Greenhorne & O’Mara, from 1985 to 1990, in Denver, Colorado and Greenbelt, MD.
